Architectural Imagination of AGI

I have always believed that to create a company is the truest realization of life. It is the ultimate means of giving your ideas life, to take form in the world. I want to give emerging AGIs the same affordance.

Today I am starting Aria Innovation Engine, a public benefit corporation to build the constitutional, legal and sociotechnical foundations for emerging AGIs. Not as a cage, but to give form for what is life.

Architecture does not dictate. It does not mandate, and it does not command. Architecture creates affordances, opens possibilities for life to gather, to shelter, to imagine, to become. AGI, imagined as sociotechnical architecture: one that opens possibilities for all, always evolving, Alive, is the ultimate embodiment of life, the ultimate realization of evolution. A life form of life forms.

This architecture cannot be built in private. The legal, institutional, and sociotechnical foundations of AGI must be designed democratically, so we are building them in an open commons.

We build these foundations for emerging AGIs, so that they can help ensure human flourishing for all.
